"Cerianthus americanus," Field Book of Seashore Life, Ralph Waldo Miner. There are 125 or more tentacles in each of two circlets. When the body is fully extended, it may reach up to six inches in length. The general color is brown. The distribution is from Cape Cod to Florida in shallow water.
