"Greater Soapfish," Reef Fish Identification, Paul Humann & Ned Deloach. Dark to medium brown; pale stripe often runs from lips across snout and nape, fading to dorsal fin. Solitary and inactive; often rests on bottom or leans against ledges or coral heads. Feeds at night on small fishes. Occasional Florida, Bahamas, Caribbean
