\"Glasseye Snapper,\" Reef Fish Identification, Florida, Caribbean, Bahamas by Paul Humann and Ned Deloach. Generally prefer shallow reefs (a clue in distinguishing them from the similar Bigeye, that prefers deep reef tops). Often hide in dark recesses of reefs by day, but occasionally drift in the open near bottom. Act unconcerned and can usually be approached without difficulty.
