"Field Book of Seashore Life, Roy Waldo Miner." Tima fomosa is an extremely large medusa. The bell is 4 inches in diameter and more than 2.5 inches in height. There are 32 tentacles around the margin, eight of them equaling the diameter of the bell in length. The fully grown medusa is abundant along the New England coast from spring to early summer and occurs north of Cape Cod in winter.
